Slipstream 4 is a larger, later issue than originally intended. We have had a difficult time producing this issue at all, and for a while thought it would probably be the last. However, people have been so kind and enthusiastic about the magazine that we have decided to keep it going, though as a more occasional publication, with an Internet version as well. We would dearly love to have your opinions on this. Would you use and Internet version? If you contribute, would you be willing to have your work up on the Web? None of this is decided yet and no work will go on the site yet. Individual author's agreement will be sought before any work is put up at all. Please write and tell us your views.
This issue is almost all words and few illustrations. Apart from the difficulties of getting illustrations, we thought we would keep the space for as much work as possible. We are very grateful to Ann Vaughan-Williams for her commentary on her poem 'Fragmented'. We will continue to invite authors to provide commentaries in future.
Editing Slipstream has become a huge task; we are snowed under with submissions, and consequently are taking longer to reply than we would like. Please be patient; all submissions are read carefully by both editors, and this process takes some time. We cannot consider work between December and March.
The theme for the issue six will be Transgression. This is on hold for now.
