In April 1996 Lucy won the Bristol Poetry Slam, the first one she had ever entered, and has since then performed poetry all over Britain and abroad.
She toured Holland with the ‘Poetry Whores on Tour’.And Denmark, India and Sri Lanka on British Council sponsored visits.In July 2003 she co-ordinated the International Conference in the writing and practise of performance poetry at Bath Spa University, with guest speakers Charles Bernstein and Bob Holman.In 2004 and 2006 she was a guest poet at the Austin International Poetry Festival in Texas.
She was a guest poet at the 2006 Wordfest in Calgary, Canada.
She was one of five poets selected for the “Temptation” poetry tour in 2005 and was artistic director for the “Exposed” poetry tour in 2006. These tours were funded by Apples and Snakes and the Arts Council.
